Prom Etiquette – Who Pays for the Limo?

It’s  just about springtime! And you know what that means! It’s time to get ready and start planning for the biggest social event of the year – the PROM! You’ve got to find the perfect dress, the perfect dinner, the perfect flowers and the perfect accessories. But what about the perfect ride? Have you thought about getting a prom limo rental? What better way could there be than to arrive in style?

But in this crazy day and age, there’s a couple of questions. Who is the one to pay for the limo? Emily Post wasn’t around to ask so we took it to a few people to find out what they think:

“The person that does the asking is usually the one that pays for dinner, tickets to the dance and the limo. You each need to buy the other person flowers so that’s an expense for both people.” – Jen

“If you want to go as friends or as a big group of people, it’s fine to have everyone pitch in to pay for the limo and the activity. Sometimes you just want to go to the dance and not be left out. You don’t have to pay for everything.” – Abbie

“I don’t mind splitting some of the more expensive things like pictures or a limo. If we decide as a couple or as a group that it’s something we want to do, but not everyone can afford, we’ll pitch in and see what we can pay and then if it’s enough, we’ll do it.” – Marcie

“The guy is asking you to the dance, so he should pay for the prom limo.” – Kendra

“What if your school is girl’s choice? You can’t say that the guy has to ask and pay then. You can talk and see what you want to do and then make a decision together.” – Brooke

So you can see there’s a variety of answers out there but no one is disagreeing that renting a limo for the prom is one of the most styling, fun and exciting ways you can get there. The Best Wine Tours in LA for Couples this Valentine’s Day!

If you are looking for something that’s fun and memorable this Valentine’s Day, try something a little different. There are more wine tours in the Los Angeles area than you would think, if you just know where to look. The best part about these locations is that they are easy to get to and from because of their central locations.

Hidden Malibu Wine Country Tours takes you on a day trips to some of the most beautiful canyons and vineyards. With other 50 different independent vineyards, Hidden Malibu Wine Country Tours will show you beautiful wineries such as Rosenthal, Semler, and Cielo. Many trips also include a visit to Cornell Winery which is across from the famous Strauss Ranch. At the ranch you can taste and buy a good variety of Malibu wines, tour their art gallery or shop their antiques.

Spend some time over at the San Antonio Winery located in central Los Angeles. They combine food with tastings to give you a different approach. You browse the prepared food that they offer instead of looking at a printed menu and then order exactly what you’d like, made to order. They have a variety of wines that you can taste at no charge.

Another way to do the perfect wine tour is plan a special day yourself. Choose out a few of the wineries that are available in the area and then relax in your own rented limousine. Take all the stress out of the day with worrying how to get from place to place. This way you and your special someone can relax together and no one has to be left out as the designated driver. If you like a particular vintage, you can make sure that is a stop on your tour. By booking something yourself you ensure that you can go to where you want to go, when you want to go. There’s no waiting for the group at a historic look out spot. You won’t have to wait for a group photo or feel that you need to hurry because the group is already ready to go.

Make this Valentine’s Day memorable and book you and your sweetheart a limo for your next Wine Tour! Check out Limo 805’s fleet and contact us today to get your special day on the books!

Can I Bring My Child’s Car Seat on an Airport Shuttle?

Traveling can be one of the most rewarding and exciting things that you can do with your spare time and money. Learning about new cultures, visiting new places, and having new experiences are just a few of the exciting things that you can do when you travel. Traveling with kids is even better. You get to see the wonder on their face when they get to get on an airplane and see the clouds for the first time. Even going through security can be an interesting new experience for them. And stressful for you. Not only do you have to worry about yourself but now you have a little one to keep track of – not including all their toys, bags, strollers and car seats.

A common question when looking at LAX airport transportation and ground transportation in general is: Can I bring my child’s car seat on the shuttle? The answer is a definite yes! You can always bring it with you. In fact, your child’s car seat counts as a safety item (along with their stroller) which can be checked for free at most airlines (always check with yours in advance, just in case).

If you are concerned about their safety on the plane and they have their own seat, you can install the car seat directly on the airplane seat. Many parents don’t feel the need to do this and it’s not required. It’s up to the parent to make the determination if that is something they would like to do. If you are traveling and renting a car, you’ll need to make arrangements to reserve a child’s car seat as well from the rental agency. Most states have certain laws and requirements that come into play with a child’s car seat. You can always check the state you are visiting in advance. Most people prefer to bring their own seat from home. It alleviates an extra expense for the trip and ensures that your child will have something that they are comfortable to sit in. The nice thing about bringing your own seat is that you know what to expect. If you don’t want to bother with an airport shuttle, consider hiring a limo or driver to transport you from the airport.
